Making sense of written music, like reading any language, is a skill to be learned. Rudiments of Music is for anyone who wants to learn to read music or who simply wants to brush up on the basics. It works well in a group setting with an instructor, but can also be studied independently. It is based on the shaped-note system used in the hymnals of many Anabaptist churches.
